'Disburse salary or will launch pen down strike'

RMSA Graduate Teachers, Manipur has today threatened of launching pen down strike if the State Government fails to disburse the salary within this month.
Speaking to reporters, RMSA Graduate Teachers, Manipur general secretary Maisnam Lanngam said till now the State Government has failed to disburse the salary for 800 RMSA teachers on time.
The Education Minister has been apprised of the issue on July 25, 2016.Representatives of RMSA Graduate Teachers then met the Education Secretary on July 27, 2016 who assured to fulfil their demand in ten days.
However, no positive step has been initiated till date, M Lanngam said.
"A meeting was also held regarding the issue afterwhich a rally was taken out.
We went to meet Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as well.
Since the Chief Minister was unavailable, a memorandum was submitted through the officials concerned," M Lanngam said.
Pending salary of RMSA teachers should be disbursed within this month or else we will begin the pen down strike, he added.
