Imphal, January 20 2016:
The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has said that the outfit has been falsely implicated by the Aimols in their internal imbroglio while saying that it was very unfortunate.
In a statement, MP Haokip, secretary, I&P of UKLF said that Aimol Numei Waar's allegation about killing of innocent villager by Assam Rifles at the instigation of the outfit is very misleading and ridiculous.
With the guiding principle of re-unification and peaceful coexistence, it always deal the Aimols with love and respect by recognizing their existence as a unique minority tribe.
To prove this endeavour, the outfit had even went to the extent of providing Aimol tribe community hall and a gypsy for office use of the Aimol Tribe Union, it said.
Contrary to its good humane efforts toward the tribe, now Aimols have the habit of implicating UKLF in their every internal affair with the intention of maligning the outfit's image, it said.
Therefore, from this time onwards the UKLF no longer cares whether Aimols remain as a unique tribe or they come under other majority tribe.
So the choice is theirs, it said.
Regarding alleged abduction and life attempt on villagers, Aimol tribe leaders should first cross-examine the true identity of the perpetrators before blindly pointing accusing fingers at UKLF, it said.
As a SoO signatory, the cadres are confined in the designated camp with full adherence to SoO ground rules, it added.
It further urged the authority concerned to 'look into the alleged road block/gate put up at Aimol Satu village where unidentified armed men are employed round the clock who continuously harass passerbys.
It also appealed to other fellow tribal groups to be on guard so that Aimols internal issues remain within themselves so as to avoid repetition of 1990s like situation.
