The ongoing Thangjam Manorama Death Inquiry Commission has today examined Imphal West Dist SDPO N Gourakishore who abortively attempted to serve summons to five 17 Assam Rifles witnesses.
The examination was conducted to prove that the AR authorities had refused to accept the summons.
Colonel Jagmohan Singh, Commandant Naik Subedar Digambar Dutt, HavildarSureshkumar rifleman Ajit Singh and Lotha are the listed witnesses of 17 Assam Rifles.
The panel had on two instances issued the summons to the five witnesses of 17 AR.
The panel had on both the occasions had issued the summons to the five witnesses through the DGP.
On August 10 around 4.30 pm, Gourakishore went to Kangla along with the five summon letters but the guard commander Havaldar Trilok Singh informed him that there were no officers including the Commandant to receive the summon papers, the SDPO informed while testifying before the panel.
The havildar further informed him that the AR officers had left Kangla Fort for Keithelmanbi, he said.
Thereafter he along with some police commandos proceeded to the new 17 AR post at Keithelmanbi however a guard commander of the new post told him that there were no officers and also refused to accept the summon.
Subsequently he returned without serving the summon to the AR authorities.
On August 13 around 8.30 am, he again moved to Keithelmanbi post however the guard commander' informed him that the officers of the Bn had gone out for duty.
The guard commander again refused to receive the summon, the police officer said adding that he then attempted to affix the summon letters on the wall but one officer who identified himself as 2-i-c of the Bn strongly objected police officer action.
