Dr RK Ranjan calls for concerted efforts to make Manipur 'An Education Hub'

Imphal, May 18 2022:
Union Minister of State for Education, Dr RK Ranjan Singh has categorically stated that the development and decline of a State depends majorly on its education system.
He made the above statement on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of a UNACCO's residential school at Chanung in Imphal East district today.
Highlighting the importance of implementing the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020, the Minister stated that NEP was implemented to lay the foundation of a good education system in the country and to make education more affordable, to provide quality education and to achieve equity in education.
He went on to elaborate that under NEP, multi vocational subjects will be inducted to educate the students knowledgeable and skilful.

Dr RK Ranjan also called for concerted efforts to make Manipur an education hub.
Speaking as the guest of honour, Works Minister, Govindas Konthoujam assured to take up measures to repair the dilapidated road from Keibi till Chanung where the residential school will be built.
He went on to state that plans are underway to renovate other roads which are in shabby conditions with the help of funds from Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CIRF) since there are not enough funds in the State Government.
Stating that the development of a society is not possible sans the existence of a strong education system, the Minister appealed to all to extend best possible help in any of the activities taken up for the development of education system in the State.
Today's foundation stone laying programme was also attended by CAF and PD Minister,L Sushindro, MLA of Khundrakpam AC, Th Lokeshor and chairman of UNACCO, N Irabanta as the presidium members.
