Addressing the public, Saikul Hill Town Chairman Tonglet Chongloi said that persons or organization(s) involved in the incident must know that the money they had looted does not belong to a businessman or a contractor.
The money was meant for the people.
"It is a request of the people that the State Government and authority concerned should initiate steps to pull up the culprits", he added.
While stressing the importance and necessity of bank particularly in hill areas, ADC Member Thangkam Lupheng said that any sort of payment or transaction nowadays is done through a banking system and the people of Saikul area are fortunate to have Vijaya Bank in the area.
However, existence of such barbaric and indecent nature in Saikul area is deeply unfortunate and it visibly shows the uncultured nature of the culprits.
He added that such people should be taught a befitting lesson.
He also said that the public will never support any armed organization who declare themselves to be working for the welfare of the people but are actually working against the interest of the public.
