Gallon villagers in Nungba down with high fever, loose motion; seek prompt medical attention

Kangpokpi, November 17 2018:
Many villagers of Gallon village under Nungba Sub Division in Noney district were reportedly suffering from high fever and loose motion since the past week and remained without any medical attention from the concerned authority.
Gallon is a remote village located about 40/45 km away from Nungba bazar in newly created Noney District with around 30 households under Nungba Assembly Constituency.
Dalkholal Gangte, Secretary, Gallon Village Authority said that the entire village of Gallon are suffering from high fever and loose motion since the past week and the reason could not be ascertained till now as no medical service is available in the area.
He also said that medical facilities are completely absent in the area which has rendered the villagers face tremendous hardships with various health related issues from these past many years which remained unattended till date too.
He also drew the attention of the concerned authority and the State Govt for immediate help to save the lives of Gallon villagers in the larger interest of humanity.
Meanwhile, ADC Tamenglong Member, S Lungin Gangte also drew the attention of the concerned authority and the State Govt in connection with the alleged epidemic like situation that struck Gallon village.
The ADC Member said that the entire village is suffering from high fever and loose motion and they are in a situation where nobody can take care of another rendering the lives of the villagers at stake.
He also said that there is no motorable road leading to the village and the villagers carried the patient in a stretcher made of bamboo or piggyback the patient on foot for more than one day, scaling the rough terrains ups and downs for medical treatment at the nearest hospital available at Nungba.
Considering the grievances of the people, the ADC member sought immediate action of the concerned authority and to initiate swift action to save the lives of Gallon village.
