Gaidon keeps mum on blockade remark

Refusing to comment on the statement made by United Naga Council (UNC) general secretary that the ongoing economic blockade on the National Highways will not be lifted until their demands are met, Gaidon Kamei, president of the apex body of Nagas in the State said that he has remained cut off from contacts with other office bearers of UNC.
Gaidon Kamei was speaking to newspersons after coming out of the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East where he and information secretary Shangkhel Stephen were produced today in connection with the ongoing trial against them.
The Court further remanded the two UNC leaders to judicial custody till March 31 .
When reporters asked his stand on the statement made by UNC general secretary S Milan while having a telephonic conversation with a local electronic media yesterday, Gaidon Kamei said that he did not want to give any comment as he is in judicial custody.
He expressed hope that a positive outcome would be arrived at with the formation of a new Government in the State.
The two UNC leaders are currently lodged in Manipur Central Jail.
