Swachhta Hi Seva pledge rung across the State on People's Day

In connection with the nationwide launching of Swachhta Hi Seva (Cleanliness is Service) campaign in many areas of the country, people of the State also initiated the campaign at various districts today .
The Swachhta Hi Seva campaign will be be observed till October 2 and aims to promote cleanliness in various areas of the State .
Manipur Pollution Control Board Chairman, as well as MLA of Oinam AC, Laishram Radhakishor, during the launching of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign function, said, “Humans have the ability to think and survive in today’s technology driven society but are struggling when it comes to keeping up with clean lifestyle and maintaining a clean environment” .
The Swachhta Hi Seva and pledge taking ceremony was attended by MPCB Chairman, L Radhakishor Singh, DC, Bishnupur, Bobby Waikhom, Additional Chief Engineer, PHED, L Swamikant Singh, Director Communication and Capacity Unit Manipur, Ksh Lalitbabu Singh, SE Rural Circle PHED, H Bigadhon as dignitaries among others .
The programme was organised by District Water and Sanitation Committee, Bishnupur in collaboration with PHED, Bishnupur and Bishnupur District Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin Coordinating Committee .
DLOs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers along with the dignitaries took the “Cleanliness is Service” pledge administered by DC, Bobby Waikhom .
Speaking at the event, MLA Radhakishwor highlighted the need to keep the environment as well the surrounding clean, and asserted that cleanliness begins from home and personal spaces and parents play a crucial role in teaching their children .

In Churachandpur district, Swachhta Hi Seva campaign and Meeyamgi Numit was simultaneously held at DTC hall, Tuibong, Churachandpur, with Chairman of ADC, Churachandpur, Khaipao Haokip, as chief guest, Principal secretary (A/E/Relief and DM/ S & T/ Fisheries), Churachandpur , MH Khan, as special guest of the function .
Speaking at the occasion, Khaipao Haokip underlined the importance of bridging the gap between public and the Government for transparent and effective governing.
He urged the participants of the campaign to keep up their hard work in maintaining the distirct’s status as the cleanest district in the State.
Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Shyam Lal Poonia emphasized the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission and the need to sustain the clean and healthy lifestyle which brought the district its title of the top cleanest district in the State .
In view of the observance of Meeyamgi Numit, he stated that the problems, grievances and suggestions of the people, will be thoroughly recorded for positive end results .
ADC, Churachandpur (EM) and Town Cleanliness and Sanitation in-charge spoke about the need to coordination among various CSOs, DLOs, NGOs and the people in carrying out Swachh Bharat Mission successfully .
SP, Churachandpur, Rakesh Balwan, appealed to the people to extend their full cooperation to district authorities in maintaining cleanliness across the district and to fully participate in making Clean India a reality .
Later, a Swachhta pledge was also held in which Executive Engineer of PHED, Churachandpur administered the pledge .
People’s Day was observed at multiple areas of Jiribam district including Jiribam DC office, Jiribam police and Jiribam Municipal office .
SDO, Borobekra S Peter Singh, SDC Dhananjoy and SDC Birjit Singh were present at DC office while SP, Mubi, Additional SP, OC and other police personnel took active part in receiving the pleas and suggestions of the peopleof Jiribam .
During the meeting, SDPO, RK Charles, assured that Jiribam police is continuously conducting verification drive at many areas including Borobekra and further stated that the absence of DTO office has also been addressed to the authority concerned .
Kangpokpi district also launched the “Cleanliness is Service” campaign at the multipurpose hall of DC, Kangpokpi district .
Held under the aegis of the District Water and Sanitation Committee, kangpokpi PHE Division, the event was attended by ADC, Kangpokpi Sadar hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing, DC, Kangpokpi , T Ranjit Singh, CEO, Kangpokpi, Lalboi haokip, Additional SP, Kangpokpi and ADC, Kangpokpi, H Balkrishna as dignitaries .
"The fortnight long campaign which will culminate on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, is aimed at mobilizing people and reinforcing the Jan Aandolan for sanitation to contribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of Clean India", asserted DC, Kangpokpi T Ranjit Singh (IAS) .
He also said that the launching of the campaign shall be an endeavour for officers to maintain a clean and hygienic atmosphere in all establishments while adding that all concerned stakeholders must pledge to continue the drive to make a better eco-friendly environment in the district .
A rally starting from the DC Office and passing through Kangpokpi Bazar was also organized, to promote the campaign and its ideals .
ADC, Kangpokpi Sadar Hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing, administered the “Swachhta Hi Seva” pledge, to maintain a clean and hygienic atmosphere in the entire district .
DLOs, CSOs, ASHA workers and school children attended the launching function .
Following the celebration of People’s Day on the 15th of every month, the day was also observed at IB, Moreh .
A meeting of SDPO, Lawrence and other police officials along with 11 AR, Moreh, Forest Community ACODOM, MCM, Tamil Sangam, HTC, All Moreh Auto Association, MMCM, Gurkha Samaj, Indo Myanmar Worker Forum representatives was held .
The meeting deliberated on illegal parking at the road sides of the National Highway, traffic rules and regulations, the need to spread awareness on various schemes provided by banks which are set up at Moreh, pathetic situation of Moreh hospital, the non-functioning of BSNL network, SBI ATM etc .
The public leaders underlined the need for intervention by the Government and the authority concerned to improve the over all condition of Moreh hospital and also addressed the grievances of the people in connection with the unavailability of bus seats in MST buses .
The officials recorded the issues of the people and assured to take possible actions from their side .
Meeyamgi Numit was also observed at Tengnoupal DHQs in which DLOs including DC, Tengnoupal, Kh Raghumani Singh, SP, Tengnoupal, Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Major, Dr Md Akbar (representative from 12 AR), CMO, Tengnoupal, Dr Sethani, DGM/MSPDCK, L haokip, Executive Engineer, PHED, Jeol Rangnamei, ZEO, Tengnoupal, Dr N Arunkumar Singh and DSWO, Tengnoupal D Mathew Maring, heard the grievances of the people .
Representatives from 11 AR (Maj Avinash), Deputy Manager of UBI Donald, in-charge MO of Moreh hospital Dr Jullon Singh also observed the day where numerous suggestions and problems were received .
Meanwhile, in Thoubal district, the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, L Nabakishwor launched the Swacchta Hi Seva campaign at Thoubal DC office complex .
The launching programme was organised by Municipal Councils of Thoubal district in which DC Nabakishwor administered the “Swachhta Hi Seva” pledge to keep every nook and corner of Thoubal district clean and hygienic .
To mark the beginning of the campaign, a cleanliness drive was held at the premises of DC complex .
Speaking at the event, Nabakishwor stated that the campaign, which was launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to keep schools, offices, health institutions and public places of Thoubal district clean, under their respective officials and NGOs .
ADM, Thoubal, Bhogen, SDO, Thoubal, Dr M Vetto, District Programme manager of DHS, Thoubal, Ch Basanta and Councillors of different Municipal Councils under Thoubal were present at the occasion .
Meanwhile, Education, Labour and Employment Minister, Radheshyam Singh took active part in the observation of Meeyamgi Numit at Laikol Community Hall, Heirok .
Pointing out the importance of time for the people of Thoubal, the Minister stated that the day was observed at Heirok to save time, money and energy since the majority of the people are daily wage earners and added that it was observed with the initiative of Deputy Commissioner .
Fourteen different Government Departments opened stalls providing services and information to people .
The Heads of Department highlighted the different schemes, project and initiatives launched by the Central Government .
The Minister informed that there are 99 schemes provided by the Central Government for the upliftment of the people and urged all to avail the benefits.
