It may be mentioned here that yesterday at Ukhrul there was a report of some returnees who were sent home from the quarantine centres, after the completion of the quarantine period, without waiting for the test results but tested positive for COVID-19 when the test result arrived.
A senior official of the State Health Department had also announced the possibility of cluster transmission among the inmates of quarantines centres.
The Health Minister further said, "Reports of inmates of quarantine centres not maintaining the SOP and social distancing norms issued by the Health Department make us suspicious of cluster transmission.
However, as there is no vaccine for this virus, prevention is the only way we can do for now", he said and appealed to the public to follow the health advisory issued by ICMR and WHO.
