Lillong Hoareibi College resume normal functioning - Principal

Amidst controversy over the opening of schools and colleges during the COVID-19 pandemic, Principal of the Lilong Haoreibi College Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh has notified that the College has resumed normal
functioning since 11th September 2020 .
The statement said that the college has been shut down for over months following agitations by the College Students' Union.
The notification is issued
today; a day after Manipur Education Minister stated that there are no provisions for opening of schools and colleges from September 21 as the state education department in consultation with the chief minister will prepare a SOP if in case the schools and colleges are to be opened.
The statement said that a 'One Day Extensive Sanitization cum Cleanliness Programme' has been conducted today under the guidance of the
Directorate of University & Higher Education, Govt, of Manipur as preparation for the BA and BSc 6th Semester Exam, that is commencing from the September 13 .
The cleanliness programme conducted this
morning from 6 am onwards led by Principal Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh, was attended by the teaching faculties, nonteaching staff and students union members of the college by maintaining physical distance, wearing
face masks, as per the SOP's related to the Pandemic COVID 19 management, the statement said.
The statement by the Principal further stated that the College shall remain open from September 14 to
September 16 2020 to redress the grievances, if any, by the students appearing the BA and B.Sc 6th Semester Examinations.
It also appealed to all faculties who are dealing with the students of the said
semester in any subject, paper shall make themselves available in the college during the said period it said.
