PIL to revive MHRC gets a boost

Imphal, January 12 2018:
Dr Th Suresh, Chairman of Centre for Foreign Studies and Placement, has vowed to keep pushing forward until Manipur Human Rights Commission is revived and fitted with an appropriate Chairperson and members and until the Supreme Court order is properly implemented by the State Government.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Dr Th Suresh said that the Supreme Court has directed the authority concerned to appoint the necessary Chairperson and members of Manipur Human Rights Commission, in response to a PIL filed by him on January 14, 2014.He further vowed not to give up until the State Government properly implements the Supreme Court's order.
The final hearing of the PIL was conducted on September 7, last year and the Court order was passed on January 4.The PIL also includes recommendation to depute two officials, not less than the rank of Secretary or Inspector General, in the commission, he added and appealed to the people to support the movement for the revival of Manipur Human Rights Commission.
