Imphal, November 09 2017:
Infuriated by the alleged lack of manpower and infrastructure at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Takyelpat, incensed students of the institute today went on a rampage and burned down two unused cars parked inside the institute campus .
Speaking to media persons, general secretary, ITI Students' Union, Lourambam Parker pointed out that the institute has been reeling under lack of proper manpower and infrastructure for the last many years affecting normal conduct of classes .
He said that the Chief Minister, Education Minister, Director of Training, Labour Minister and other concerned officials and organisations have been urged to meet the requirements of the students within November 10 .
He reiterated that a charter of demands was also submitted in this regard but no step has been taken up to do the needful .
The students were compelled to agitate as repeated pleas to meet the demand went in vain, he said .
The students will continue to launch different forms of agitation until the concerned authority meets the demand, he made it clear.
