IED found near Cong Bhavan 20 days to go to polls and no let up in bomb blasts

Along with discovery of an IED at GM Hall in the immediate neighbourhood of Congress Bhavan, there has been no let up in bomb attacks targeting Congress offices and supporters.
CorCom has claimed responsibility for the series of bomb attacks.
A powerful IED reportedly designed to rip Congress Bhavan was discovered inside GM Hall complex this morning.
The explosive weighing around 4 Kgs was put inside a milk can.
Explosive experts of Manipur Police retrieved the bomb and set it off safely at an isolated place at Lamphel.
On the other hand, a hand grenade was lobbed at the residence of Congress candidate Dr Ng Bijoy at Khurai Chingangbam Leikai.
The grenade however fell short of the target and landed on the roof of a neighbour at about 8 pm yesterday.
The grenade which landed near a overhead water storage tank of one Laishram Sanjoy failed to go off.
It was retrieved by explosive experts of Manipur Police this morning.
One supporter of MLA Okram (O) Landhoni was attacked by some unidentified persons with a hand grenade at his Khangabok Maisnam Leikai residence last night.
Even though the bomb hurled at the residence of Moirangthem Ranjit (40) exploded at about 9.30 pm, there was no casualty.
Further, unidentified persons hurled another hand grenade at the residence of Manipur State Women Commission Chairperson Irengbam Ibetombi at Chingamathak at about 11.30 pm yesterday.
The grenade which did not go off was later picked up by police.One more hand grenade was also found at the residence of Congress supporter Paonam Khogen (45) at Lilong Chajing at about 6.30 this morning.
