Although vehicular movement along National Highways has been affected by blockade, landslide and broken bridge, there has been no shortage of medical gases at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and others in the State.
There will be no shortage of medical gases at major public hospitals like RIMS, JNIMS and Shija, Medical Superintendent in-charge of JNIMS, Dr H Lokhendra told The Sangai Express.
There are adequate stock of medical gases like oxygen, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, carbon dioxide at JNIMS, he said while adding that supplying agency had assured to ensure uninterrupted and adequate supply of the gases.
Normally, 7-11 B-type, 4-5 A-type and 10 D-type medical gases are used daily at JNIMS.
Since the number of patients during the peak of the ILPS demand agitation was low, there is enough stock of medical gases in the hospital as of now.
Officials concerned at JNIMS are also making hectic efforts to ensure adequate supply of life saving medicines, Dr Lokhendro said.
Like in the past, many people are apprehensive this time too that shortage of medicinal gases may hit the two major public hospitals as vehicular movement along the highways was affected due to landslides and broken bridge along the two highways.
