Having completed 15 weeks of rigorous training in first aid, and basic maternal and child health, 15 young girls will be initiated into the noble profession of service to humanity through a convocation to be held at the Red Shield Auditorium, Leimakhong tomorrow.
According to a PIB (DW) statement these girls from remote villages surrounding Leimakhong were inducted for training in May this year under the Red Shield Division's 'Health Angels Initiative'.
Objective of such a venture is said to improve basic health care service in rural areas of the State for which the trainees were basically selected from amongst educated and committed local girls.
Informing that total cost incurred in training the girls would work out to over Rs 5 lakhs out of which the major expenditure was in equipping them with medical kits, the PIB statement further said Health Minister Ph Parijat Singh would be the chief guest of the convocation ceremony.
