Winners of "Online Acting Talent Hunt Competition" feted

The winners of "Online Acting Talent Hunt Competition" organised by Ipak Films Production Manipur last month, were feted today at their respective residences with citations, cash rewards.
Convenor of the competition, Ojitkumar Luwangcha doled out the prizes by visiting the respective houses of the winners today along with sponsor, Laimujam Pratap Singh who is the secretary of Smart Security Service.
The competition held to help acting lovers make the most of their time during the COVID-19 induced lockdown period, as well as to tap their talents and skills, was conducted in two categories, one for children below 10 years (category A) and another category for 11 to 20 years (category B) .
It may be noted that Silheibi Laishram from Sekmaijin Awang Leikai finished first in category A while Charoibam Rasmita Devi of Sagolband Thangjam Leikai and Gurumayum Sharbani Devi of Abhoinagar, Tripura finished second and third respectively.
Sougrakpam Chanu Malem of Utlou Makha Leikai was named for the Special Jury Award in the same category while Bemton Khundrakpam from Khangabok Sorok Wangma got the Special Mention Award.
Meanwhile, Soibam Moshan from Mayang Imphal Konchak Mamang Leikai grabbed the top honour in the Category B while Prity Nepram of Kiyamgei Awang Leikai and Brahmacharimayum Valinda Devi of Kangla Sangomshang bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
Elizabeth Irom of Tera Sapam Leirak earned a Special Jury Award in this category and Yaioiba Leitanthem of Uripok Khumanthem Leikai won the Special Mention Award.
Speaking on the sideline of the prize distribution visit, Rakesh Naorem, secretary of the organising firm, said that COVID-19 has been affecting everyone and had created uneasiness and worries on everyone's mind.
"It is high time we shed the stress and anxiety caused by the disease and spare a few moments to encourage positivity and enhance our immune system," he said.
He also maintained that such acting competition will provide children a platform to improve and hone their skills in the field of acting art while maintaining that similar "online painting" and "Online Photogenic Competition" are being conducted to encourage the young art lovers.
Around 66 contestants from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Tripura, are taking part in the said photogenic contest and the result will be out by June 8, he added.
Sponsor Laimujam Pratap Singh also asserted that one should not hide their talents even in the face of the pandemic while lauding the positive initiative of Ipak Films Production.
He also drew attention of the Government to initiate online classes for art lovers, as art is also a part of the education.
Pratap, considering the immense hardships of the common people during the lockdown, urged all concerned to ensure proper functioning of food banks and help people avail its benefit.
