International Women's Day: Conclave, awareness, interaction programmes organised

As a part of International Women's Day celebration, a 'Women Entrepreneurs' Conclave' was organised by the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation in collaboration with the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Imphal.
The conclave which was organised under the sponsorship of North Eastern Council, Govt of India was held at ICM complex, Lamphelpat.
Registrar of Cooperative Societies Arambam Valentina IAS; ICM Imphal Director in-charge Khoichung Rangamlian; North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Manager Jyotirmoy Choudhury and Renu Handloom and Handicrafts Societies Limited secretary Arambam Renu Devi graced the occasion as the presidium members.

Stalls showcasing products of various women self-help groups were opened during the conclave.
The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion highlighted the need of improving the economic status of women and lauded their sincere efforts for the development of the society.
In view of the upcoming International Women's Day, DM College of Teacher Education (DMCTE) in collaboration with Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol organised an awareness programme on women's health today at the College hall today.
Speaking at the occasion, senior gynaecologist Dr T Bilashini Devi stressed a sound health for women is of utmost importance in bringing gender equality.
While maintaining that women should strive for physical and mental well-being, she said that women will get their due rights when they are educated and self-reliant thereby having a stable source of income.
National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL)-Regional Office, Imphal celebrated International Women's Day in the State today.
An interaction and encouragement program with local women working in different private sectors was organized on this occasion, said a press release by NHIDCL-RO.
NHIDCL officials extended words of encouragement to the women and appreciated the idea and enthusiasm of the staff working in the private sector.
NHIDCL officials visited the Yandibala Kouna Craft located at Sagolband Mabudhu Mantri Leikai where the officials appreciated the efforts put in by all the women and encouraged their craftsmanship.
Later the NHIDCL officials also visited a small scale industry, Chanu Associate located at Lamphel Sanakeithel wherein biodegradable pens and pencils are made from waste plastic and papers by a small group of women.
