Francis visits T Vaichong block

Former Minister and MLA Francis Ngajokpa yesterday visited Tujang Vaichong block offices while on his way to inaugurate the Hydro Electric Power Station at Gelnal in Sadar Hills.
The local MLA was accompanied by DK Thangboi, Addl DC Sadar Hills and other officials from various departments including Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited and MANIREDA.
The former Minister visited the T Vaichong PHC, established since 1976 and the former Minister was seen visibly annoyed over Manipur Development Society and the concerned contractor of the newly constructed PHC building for its low quality and maintenance.
Apart from the alleged low quality construction, the PHC building wall developed a huge crack due to the recent earthquake while the doctors and nurses expressed serious concern over the deteriorating condition of the building.
The local MLA also visited various others Government establishments including SDO complex water supply, police barracks, officer quarters, bank building and police out post in the area.
Meanwhile, students of T.Vaichong Govt.High Schools and the Village Authority held a grand reception of the MLA and his teams at the residence of the village chief.
The village authority presented a traditional shawl each to the MLA and his team while offering a breakfast.
During the short reception programme, T Vaichong V/A, KSO Twilang Block, T Vaichong Youth Club and SMDC T Vaichong Govt High School submitted various memorandum to the local MLA.
The village authority urged the former Minister to appoint SDO for T Vaichong Sub Division at the earliest and constructed community hall which he had earlier assured while black topping the inter village road.
The KSO Twilang Block demanded to the local MLA to revive all the non-functioning Government offices at T Vaichong Block while lauding the former Minister for the good motorable road condition and electricity which is said to be in the pipeline.
However, the student body stated that the Block office, bank, police out post, forest range officer, veterinary hospital, agriculture extension office still remain non functional while the PHC, post office and the Govt High School are only functioning.
