Imphal, November 02 2014:
The United Revolutionary Front (URF) headed by Silheiba Meitei has promised a new workers' revolutionary movement which would be waged without using any arms or seeking monetary assistance from Manipuri people.
A press statement issued and signed by chairman Silheiba Meitei and publicity secretary Wayelba Meitei informed that a joint meeting of URF cadres held on October 29 unanimously resolved to oust Lanheiba Meitei and his cohorts from the party.
The URF was set up by seven UG factions with the primary objective of spearheading a workers' movement.
From the very beginning, the party denied itself any avenue for collection of money from the mass or waging an armed struggle.
But Lanheiba Meitei was always attempting to wage an armed campaign.
As such, the party has snapped all connections with Lanheiba Meitei, it conveyed.
The joint meeting held on October 29 elected five new office bearers including chairman Silheiba Meitei, general secretary Athouba Meitei, publicity secretary Wayelba Meitei and finance secretary Thoukanba Meitei.
The meeting decided to wage an unarmed revolutionary movement of workers.
The meeting also endorsed its earlier resolutions of never arming itself and also to stop collection of money from Manipuri people.
Informing that the party has withdrawn from the Suspension of Operation pact it signed with the Government of India, the party asked all the cadres who are currently putting up at different camps to return to their homes by December 31.It further appealed to the mass to provide words of advice and physical cooperation in the outfit's attempt to build up a workers' revolutionary movement.
In case of any intimidation or harassment meted out to the mass in the name of the outfit, one may inform the party through [email protected], it added.
