SFs arrest four peddlers with WY, brown sugar, heroin

Imphal, July 31 2022:
State and central forces arrested four drug peddlers from different parts of the state along with drugs on Saturday and Sunday.
The arrested peddlers have been identified as Kiyam Naoba (26) alias Rajesh, son of Deven of Zion Veng Tuibong, Thangmenlang Haokip (26), son of Thengkholun Haokip of Phouljang village, both in Churachandpur district; Md Firoz Khan (36) son of late Md Hesamuddin Khan of Mayang Imphal Bengoon Yangbi, Imphal West district and Md Salim Ahmad Tampakmayum (28) son of Md Nazir Khan of Kwakta ward No 8 in Bishnupur district.

According to police sources, a team of Imphal East commando unit conducted operation in North AOC area on Sunday and rounded up drug smuggler Md Firoj Khan from near the eastern gate of DM University, opposite to 2nd MR gate around 11.35 pm and seized 6000 WY tablets and 50 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
During questioning, Md Firoj revealed that the recovered drugs were brought from one Md Aziz Khan of Mayang Imphal and came to North AOC on his advice to hand over the same (WY tablets) to an unknown person, and thus he was waiting to deliver the same.
The arrested drug peddler along with the seized items has been handed over to Imphal police station for further necessary legal action him.
Meanwhile, a team of Churachandpur police carrying out frisking and checking duty at Ngathal village junction seized three soap cases containing brown sugar weighing 42 grams from Naoba on Saturday around 5pm.In the follow up investigation, the police picked up Thangminlen Haokip from Tuibong area with a soap case containing 14 gram of brown sugar.
A case has been registered against the two persons.
On the other hand, teams of Bishnupur commando assisted by Moirang PS and a column of 16 AR, while conducting frisking and checking at Kwakta ward No.1 (G.P) near ldigah along IVR on Saturday, arrested Md Salim Ahamad Tampakmayum with 16 soap cases of heroin weighing 179 grams.
The arrested person along with the seized items has been handed over to Moirang police station for taking up necessary legal actions.
