Farmer's Training programme

Senapati, June 30 2014:
A one day farmer's training programme on "Popularization of bio-fertilizer for better yield under RKVY during Kharif-2014" organized by District Agriculture office, Senapati, in collaboration with Khumai Youth and Student's Organization was held on June 29, 2014 .
The training programme which aimed to initiate farmers' benefits by cultivating Kharif crops with bio-fertilizers was attended by around 100 100 farmers from Tunggam Union consisting of eight revenue villages.
The resources persons were L Sanatomba Singh, Dy project Director, ATMA Thoubal; Kh Nimaichand Singh, Plant Health Clinic Sangjenthong, Imphal; Dr N Binabon Singh, DAO Senapati.
Bio-fertilizers and two pump sprayers were distributed and its uses were also demonstrated.
Dr N Binabon Singh in his keynote address noted that the programme's objective was to improve the agricultural products with varieties of high yielding techniques and multi-plantation of vegetables.
He also announced that the National Food Security Mission will be launched this monsoon.
According to the resource persons, utility of bio-fertilizers which is eco-friendly will certainly enhance the growth and provide essential plants nutrients.
These components also decreases plant related diseases and are pest resistance.
