Gangmumei Kamei joins BJP

Imphal, January 31 2013:
Founder president of the then Federal Party of Manipur and three-time Cabinet Minister Prof Gangmumei Kamei has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Prof Kamei's entry to the national political organisation has been accorded formal approval/recognition at a reception function organised today by the BJP Manipur Pradesh at its Nityaipat Chuthek office.
Presiding the reception function of Prof Kamei, State unit party chief Thounaojam Chaoba also announced nomination of the two-time FPM legislator from Nungba assembly constituency as a State executive member.
Party president chaoba also expressed that Prof Kamei joining the BJP would provide the much-needed fillip in strengthening party's organisational matters in the State in general and hill areas in particular.
According to a statement issued by BJP Manipur Pradesh media in-charge Robin Blackei, Prof Kamei held different important portfolios as a Cabinet Minister under the Chief Ministership of Rishang Keishing (1995), W Nipamacha (1998-2001) and truncated period of Radhabinod Koijam (2001) .
The statement described Prof Kamei as an important leader of the tribal people.
