ADC Member, MUA visit hailstorm affected villages

Chandel ADC Member Mk Kopham Maring along with Maring Uparup Assembly and staff members of District Council Chandel visited villages which have been devastated by recent hailstorms in Kangoi Khullen area today, reports our correspondent.
The ADC Member and his team inspected the damaged houses and schools at Kangoi Khunou, Samanphai, Kangoi Khullen, P Chingyeikhu and Phunchong village besides interacting with the villagers and teaching staff of the schools.
At present, students of Kangoi Khullen Primary School are attending their classes under perforated roofing sheets.
Interacting with the villagers and schools teachers, Chandel ADC Member Mk Kopham Maring who was elected from 4-Kangoi District Council Constituency assured to apprise their grievances to the authority concerned for necessary assistance.
Maring Uparup Assembly president L Modun Charanga, Renie Wanglar, Deputy Inspector of School and Johnson Anal, Assistant Inspector of School were also among the inspection team.
L Modun Charanga said that the villagers of the area have also been facing untold hardships as the bridge over Sengwai (Sengmai) river between Samanphai and Kangoi Khullen was carried away by flood last year.
Moreover, school teachers in the area are also facing accommodation problem due to non-availability of quarters, he added.
Drawing the attention of the State Government, Modun Charanga also urged the local MLA to consider the plight of the villagers and take up necessary steps.
