Imphal, August 26 2014:
The Nungba Area Citizens Welfare Association expressed disappointment over the irregul arities of FCS, SDO Nungba and CHC Nungba Department at Nugnba HQs, said the President of NACWA in a press statement.
As FCS Department fails to deliver necessary food items, villagers are paying Rs 23 per kilogram of superfine rice while the local rice costs Rs 36 per kg.
Stating that hundreds of trucks loaded with FCS rice pass through NH 37 every week, NACWA said that the Nungba FCS godown remains empty throughout the year.
It further alleged that the SDO of Nungba HQs runs the administration from his residence in Imphal and villagers have travel to Imphal by spending hundreds of rupees to approach him for any related assistance.
The community Health Centre in Nungba which is the lone CHC in Tamenglong District is in poor condition.
With increasing vehicular movement in NH-37, accidents and casualties cases have also increased.
With no proper medical facilities, inadequate medical staff, people are deprived from basic life amenities.
The association urged the authority concerned to take up required steps and ease the hardships faced by the people of Nungba area.
