CJ Abhilasha inaugurates three Legal Aid Clinics in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, February 17 2018:
The main objective Legal Aid Clinic is to felicitate and show the way for solution beofre the cases reach Court, said Chief Justice Abhilasha Kumari today.
The Chief Justice was speaking at the inaugural function of Legal Aid Clinics in Ukhrul district.
Justice N Kotiswar among other accompanied the Chief Justice on her maiden visit to the district.
CJ Abhilasha Kumari inaugurated three Legal Aid Clinics at District Hospital, Ukhrul Police Station and District Session Court Complex.

The Chief Justice also inaugurated three Legal Literacy Clubs for schools in Ukhrul-Ukhrul Public School, KTL Higher Secondary School and Higher Themzan School.
Opening of Legal Aid Clinic at the District Police Station signify the bond between civil society and police.
Police are foremost protector of the people, the Chief Justice said.
The Legal Aid Clinics will touch the lives of every individuals.
Legal problems can be solved through proper guidance of the engaged Para Legal Volunteers (PLV), she said.
These institutions (Legal Aid Clinic) will bring justice at doorsteps.
Infrastructural developments are not the only development needed, development includes legal awareness among the people, she added.
Later, the Chief Justice also visited the ongoing medical camp "CM gi Hekshel Tengpang" at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Hamleilkhong, Ukhrul.
More than 2000 have registered for CMHT health cards issued to BPL families.
The Chief Justice also attended a one day Legal Services Camp held at the DRDA Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Office complex.
Legal Literacy Clubs: At the inaugural function of the Legal Literacy Clubs, Justice N Kotiswar spoke about the Constitution of India to the students.
He spoke on the trinity of Indian Constitution ( Article 14, 19 and 21) .
Every citizen of the Country are well protected by Fundamental Rights- right to equality, right to freedom and protection of life and personal liberty, he said.
The district now has a total of 10 Legal Aid Clinics and four Legal Literacy Clubs.
On the sideline of the inaugural functions, the Ukhrul District Bar Association President Vakham Zimik urged the visiting Chief Justice to expedite the process for a fully functional District Session Court and a Separate jail for Ukhrul district.
Registrar General of High Court of Manipur Kunishwar Sharma, Registrar R K Memcha, District Session, Ukhrul Rajnikanta Singh, CJM Alek Muivah, SP Ukhrul, CJM, SDPO, Doctors and members Ukhrul District Bar association attended the inaugural functions.
