CMO Kpi clarifies on lack of manpower in CCC Leikop

Kangpokpi, May 16 2021:
The Chief Medical Officer of Kangpokpi clarified over the news report of manpower at Covid Care Centre Leikop which was published in some local dailies today.
Dr J Touthang, CMO Kangpokpi stated that in the news report it was stated that only two doctors, two nurses and two Multi Tasking staff present at the Covid Care Centre is insufficient to manage the centre considering the alarming surge of infection.
He clarified that it should not be construed that the Covid Care Centre is run by only two doctors, two nurses and two multi tasking staff stating that the total number of nurses deployed at the Covid Care Centre is 12 along with 8 multi tasking staff and 2 doctors.
He continued that all these nurses and multi-tasking staff along with the two doctors were assigned duty on roster basis, with two doctors and two nurses along with two multi-tasking staff assigned duty at a time.
He mentioned that despite the shortage of oxygen cylinders, the patients admitted till date have been managed successfully till date with the available oxygen cylinder.
However, it could be a problem if the number of patients increases at the centre.
Meanwhile, according to the proposal of manpower at Covid Care Centre Leikop sent to the higher authority, 10 doctors were proposed at the Centre out of which only two doctors were recently recruited while no proposal for increasing the number of nurses at the centre was proposed.
The proposal also mentioned additional manpower of four more multi tasking staff along with three cooks for the centre.
