JAC knocks PM's door for 7th Pay

The JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention towards implementation of their 22-point charter of demands including adoption of the 7th Pay with respect to State Government employees with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016 .
Pointing out that Manipur is an economically backward State, the memorandum submitted on March 8 appealed to the Prime Minister to direct the Government of Manipur to settle the long drawn legitimate demands of the employees, workers, pensioners and family pensioners amicably and to promptly implement the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The 22-point charter of demands include implementation of the 7th Pay in toto, immediate release of all due DA/DR, regularisation of Work Charged employees in all engineering departments, conversion of Muster Roll and Casual Workers to Work Charged employees and putting an end to the practice of re-employment/extension of services beyond the age of superannuation.
To lift ban on direct recruitment for filling up sanctioned, regular vacant posts, to enhance duty allowance of Home Guards and to remove restriction on withdrawal of GPF, to clear all the pending appointments under the die-in-harness scheme, enhancement of fixed medical allowance to pensioners and family pensioners to Rs 5 00 per month and ensuring paid leave of up to 90 days to the contract/outsourcing women employees during the time of delivery are some other points listed in the charter of demands.
