Imphal, August 12 2021:
Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) announced that it will start conducting inspection drive in private schools across the State to check whether the schools are well equipped with the essential facilities or not.
In a press release, DESAM maintained that though there are proper rules and regulations in place regarding the opening of schools however many schools are established defying the norms focusing only on the monetary gains and there have been reports about sale and purchase of recognition certificates of institutions and schools are opened on the basis of such certificates which is of serious concern.
DESAM also expressed concern over the exorbitant fees taken by some schools without the adequate facilities and such activities of the authorities of private schools is harmful for the society.
The student body also talked about the reports on miscommunication among the non teaching staff and administrative staff, teachers and students and the absence of a proper grievance cell to address such issues leads to hostility among the staff, students and teachers.
Stating that recognition certificates are given to many schools which violate the criteria and regulations laid down by the competent authorities and DESAM expressed discontentment that the Government has been neglecting such issues which is against the well being of the society in the long run.
In the light of the above circumstances, DESAM is set to inspect the private schools in the State to check whether the schools have the adequate facilities for the smooth and efficient functioning.
