Claiming that education system in the hills of Manipur is at the lowest ebb, the KNO today said it will act as vigilante to ensure that development schemes for education is delivered in toto while warning that failure to deliver justice on the part of the concerned authority will invite justice from it.
The KNO said that absence of visionary politicians and long term education policy of the State and its lackadaisical attitude in executing educational schemes has left the education system at its lowest ebb even after 40 years of attaining full-fledged State.
It further claimed that number of schools in the hills remain constant when compared with the figures in 1980s."Schools which were once held in high esteem as centre of learning is now becoming a den of easy money for self-centric authorities and contractors at the cause of citizens of the hills whom they think as sons and daughters of lesser people", stated the organisation even as it added that school in the hills are no more centre of education in its true sense but a make believe education centre.
It further cited an independent survey it has conducted and alleged to have exposed the vivid reality, where in most cases, there are no proper infrastructures building, class rooms, toilets, drinking water facilities, staff quarters etc, all on the contrary to figures on record or files.
Founded on these allegations, the organisation has said the concerned Department as well as agencies or individuals will now have to deliver all schemes related to education in toto as per the guidelines.
It also urged the Ministers, MLAs and MDCs to extend utmost co-operation on this regard and abstain from transferring teachers during mid-session.
It has also informed all teachers to attend regular classes at their respective place of posting.
