(Continution) While the british atrocities were confined to violation of basic human rights and ill-treatment of indians as inferior citizens, which in turn galvanised Indian nationalism movement, the British rulers outraging modesty of indian women was unheard of during their over two-century domination, unlike people of mainland India who discriminate North Eastern girls in broad daylight in major cities, highlighted the chairman.
Reflecting on the recent visit by some State leaders (Ministers) to China and Japan, Paliba said models of developed countries could not be implemented in Manipur until and unless those at the helm of affairs possess sacrificial spirit, ensure availability of basic amenities as well as effectively implement policies for national identity protection.
While leaders of China and Japan promoted internal economic growth, the Government of Manipur licensing ONGC and Jubilant Company to explore/tap natural oil reserves of 5 trillion cubic feet only indicates that the focus is on amassing personal wealth and allowing multi national companies to further build their business empires.

The future of Manipur is dependent on economic nationalism and economic patriotism as well as a transparent policy to ensure that future economic endeavours in the State do not end like the failed ventures of Loitang Khunou spinning mill and Wangban sugar mill, suggested the chairman.
Cautioning that lack of initiative to put in place patent right policy would led to the local artisans left in bewilderment in the face of globalization, PREPAK (Pro) also alleged that the Central Government keenly working on Alternative Arrangement, homeland demands, autonomous district, 6th Schedule etc, are components of the India's sinister programme to divide Manipur on ethnic lines and policies centred around electoral politics.
Need of the hour, therefore, is not realisation of parochial community-based goals but to strive for cordiality and equal development of all Manipuris, said the chairman.
Disagreeing with frequent claims by Indian leaders who proclaim surrendered insurgent members as 'returning to the mainstream', he questioned what contributions the surrendered militants had made for the development of the society other than indulging in extortion activities.
For the Government surrender ceremonies mean more opportunity to convince that Central leaders provide more fund which can ultimately be siphoned off by those in power in the State.
If those waging war against the occupational forces are regarded as anti-nationals or terrorists how should Indians who fought against the British rulers deserve to be called 'freedom fighters', argued the chairman affirming that PREPAK (Pro) considers those opposed to the independent movement as individuals misled and anti-people.
Under the guidance of CorCom, defeating Indian rule remains the sole objective of revolutionary organisations for which PREPAK (Pro) is committed to forge unity and solidarity with all revolutionaries in Manipur as well as in the entire WESEA region, conveyed chairman Paliba M reiterating that unity is a must for sustaining the campaign to regain lost sovereignty.
