Like Minded Group continues its philanthropic activities

As a part of its continuous philanthropic activities of extending help to the needy and underprivileged sections of the society, Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur provided monetary assistance to two individuals in Bishnupur district today.
The group extended monetary aid of Rs 20,000 to Chanam Ito from Bishnupur Ward no 1 who lost his wife late Chanam Memcha due to lungs ailments and provided Rs 5,000 to Khwairakpam Tomba who is visually impaired from Moirang Thamnapokpi Mamang Leikai, said a press release by LMG.
A team led by advisor of LMG, Sobita Mongjam and secretary Sorokhaibam Ojit went to the residences of the said individuals and handed over the monetary aid.
Sorokhaibam Ojit said that the group decided to extended help to Chanam Ito when it came across a report in ISTV which brought forth the ordeal of Chanam Ito who sold off his properties to meet the expense of his wife's treatment and was on the verge of selling off his house as well owing to insufficient funds.
Unfortunately his wife passed away before LMG's help could reach the suffering family thus the group provided the monetary aid today to support him at this time of grief and loss, he added.
He also talked about Khwairakpam Tomba, a 67 year old blind person, residing in a forlorn state at the old building of Geetanjali Primary School with no support from his relatives and friends.
However, a kind hearted individual, Laishram Khoiba of the locality has been providing him meals which is commendable, he added.
