State schools signed MoU with out-of-state firm for computer education

Imphal, May 05 2011:
With a view to the impart computer education to students of 260 schools under the Government of Manipur, the State Government has signed an MoU with a firm based outside the State in this regard.
An official source informed that students and teachers would be given computer training under Boot Model (Boot�Built Own Operated and Transfer) which was initiated by the Centre recently.
Incidentally, computer sets given to Government schools earlier were lying unused due to absence of computer teachers.
Meanwhile, School Education Department has signed an MoU with Aces Info Tech, Kolkata.
Under this Boot Model, the particular firm would produce all the requisite money for procuring the computer sets and it would also appoint computer teachers.
The firm would pay salaries of the teachers and also provide generator sets.
The Government would pay back the expenditure incurred by the firm annually.
After five years, the firm should hand over all the equipment to the Government in good conditions.
