While condemning the attitude of the CRPF personnel posted at Leikhampokpi village who refused to help the students of Chil Chil Theological Seminary when they were threatened and scared by armed Kuki militants, the Chil Chil Asian Mission Society (CHAMS) in a press release today demanded the withdrawal of the CRPF post.
CHAMS in the press release stated that the CRPF personnel posted at Leikhampokpi village refused to help the students of Chil Chil Theology Seminary when there were threatened with gunshots asking them to go away from the area.
Instead of helping them, they also asked the students to run away to save their lives.
CHAMS acquired 100 acres of land at the area in 1990 to construct the seminary.
However they were forced to shut down the seminary during the Kuki-Naga conflict in 1993.In order to run the seminary without any disturbances, CHAMS donated 50 acres of land to the CRPF on September 30, 1996 for maintaining peace in case any dispute arises in the future.
Since the CRPF has refused to help the seminary and its students from armed militants, the presence of CRPF on the land donated by CHAMS does not serve its purpose anymore.
"Therefore, CRPF should vacate the land, so that the land can be given to some other Armed Forces who have the desire and ability to protect people, maintain peace and tranquility in the area, the release stated.
