Tour flagged off

Tamenglong, January 04 2015:
A 14-day National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Tamenglong Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division was flagged off yesterday by GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen PN Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, the GOC complemented the students for the keenness shown by them to participate in the National Integration Tour and conveyed that the tour was formulated with an intention to give the youth from the remote areas of Manipur an excellent opportunity to exchange rich heritage and culture of Manipur and the Nation during the visit.
The NIT team comprises of 25 students and two teachers from Tamenglong district of Manipur.
The students are from various schools of Tamenglong district and they would be visiting important places in Jaipur and Ajmer, such as War Memorials, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Amber Palace, Fort complex, Birla Planetarium, Pushkar, Darga of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, Ana Sagar and The Akbar Museum.
The students will also get an opportunity to visit Military School at Ajmer during the tour.
The NIT tour is aimed at achieving the aim of enhancing people to people contact between the North Eastern States and rest of the country, said a press release issued by the PRO, PIB (D/W) .
