Online legal awareness programme held at Senapati and Ukhrul

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ukhrul organised an online legal awareness programme for Police Personnel of Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts on "Fundamentals of the Law of Arrest- Discussion on Arnesh Kumar vs State of Bihar" today.
Janggoulen Haokip, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Churachandpur District, participated in the programme as a resource person.
It was also attended by Ojesh Mutum, member secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) cum chairman, DLSA Ukhrul; Masana E Panmei, secretary, District Legal Services Authority(DLSA) Ukhrul and secretary MASLSA; Masana Panmei, secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ukhrul; Bineshwori Maibam, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC); police officers of Ukhrul and Kamjong District; Panel Lawyers and PLVs of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ukhrul.
DLSA Ukhrul also organised an online legal awareness programme on "Role of PLVs and Panel Lawyers with Special Emphasis on the Law of Arrest and Detention" for the PLVs and Panel Lawyers of Ukhrul and Kamjong district yesterday.
It was participated by Chongtham Momon Singh, Advocate; Ojesh Mutum, chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ukhrul & secretary, MASLSA and Masana Panmei, secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ukhrul.
The programme was also attended by the PLVs and Panel Lawyers of Ukhrul & Kamjong districts and staff of DLSA.
Similarly, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Senapati under the sponsorship of Manipur State Legal Services Authority organised a one day webinar/legal awareness cum discussion for police officers of Senapati and Kangpokpi district on the recent judgement of the Supreme Court of India on "Arrest and Detention in the light of Arnesh Kumar vs State of Bihar" yesterday.
The webinar was attended by Panel lawyers and police officers of all the Police Stations of Senapati and Kangpokpi- Mao, Tadubi, Senapati, Kangpokpi and Saikul, said a statement of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
A Tarunkumari, secretary DLSA welcomed the participants and Samon Ibjen, chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Senapati gave the keynote address while A Marysena, Retainer Lawyer, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Senapati delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Koshia Mao, Additional Public Prosecutor to District & Session Court, Senapati also attended the programme as a resource person.
