'Bijli Mahotsav' organised

Imphal, July 28 2022:
As part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' - to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence, the Ministry of Power in association with MSPDCL, Powergrid and District Collector Office, Imphal West organizeda 'Bijli Mahotsav' in Salam Mayai Leikai in Imphal West district.
The Bijli Mahotsav was used as a platform to celebrate the collaboration between the State and the Central Government and highlight the key achievements of the power sector.
Some of the key achievements of the Imphal West district were highlighted during the event which include implementation of 72 habitation infrastructure and electrification under DDUGJY-New Scheme.
Also under the Saubhagya Scheme, 7081 households were given free registration for power/electric connection and subsidised rate supply of 28930 LED 9 watt LED bulb and 2,50,131 prepaid meters have been installed till date across Imphal West District.
The Bijli Mahotsavs are being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya - Power @2047 for more public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large.
Th Kirankumar, IAS, DC, Imphal West, N Promo, Zila Parishad, M Miranda Devi, Up-Pradhan, Ward members H Sunita and S Joy and Jivesh Khanna, Chief Manager, Imphal Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and various MSPDCL officials graced the occasion which was also attended by locals of nearby villages and districts.
The dignitaries highlighted the benefits of electricity and the unprecedented growth in the power sector over the past few years.
The events also witnessed several beneficiaries sharing their experiences.
Cultural programme, nukkad nataks (Shumang Kumhei) and screening of short films on the power sector was also presented as a part of the event.
Also Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya event was also held at Imphal East DC complex yesterday.
The event was graced by Imphal East DC, Khumanthem-Diana, Imphal East Zila Parishad Adhyaksha, P Bimola Devi, CEO Ngangbam Jogendra Khumancha and Upa Adhyaksha Ksh Tama Devi as the presidium members.
During the event, a promotional film on 'One Nation One Grid, Consumer Rights, Renewable Energy and Capacity Addition' through 'Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya' celebration was presented to sensitize the masses about the achievements of the power sector and changes brought in this sector.
Addressing the gathering, Kh Diana elaborated on the achievements of the power sector in the State.
She went on to state that a 24 hour grievance redressal and call centre has been opened in the State to address the consumer complaints.
