Road rage murder : PAC submits memo to CM

The People Action Committee formed in connection with the death of Salam Prashanta of Changangei Uchekon, who was shot dead in a road rage incident, met Chief Minister N Biren Singh today and submitted a memorandum.
During the meet, the Chief Minister assured to make necessary arrangements to provide a Government job to one of the family members of the deceased.
According to a reliable source, the members of the PAC organised a protest rally at Tiddim road with the aim of submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister in connection with the shooting.
However, they were prevented from going any further near Kwakeithel by a police team.
Only a select few members were then allowed to proceed and submit the memo.
The source continued that during the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the PAC members that payment of ex gratia will be discussed in a Cabinet meeting, as well as to provide a Government job to a family member of the deceased.
The memo submitted by the PAC contained various demands like appropriate punishment of the culprit and active participation of the police in the legal process, faking of confessional statement of the culprit by Lamphel OC or the IO at the earliest etc.
The memo also demanded immediate payment of compensation and also warned that the dead body would not be claimed if the Government fails to fulfil the PAC's demands within three days.
