Dr Nara's travelogue released

Dr Moirangthem Nara's travelogue Shaknairabashinga Unaba (Interaction with distinguished personalities) was released today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound under the aegis of the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council.
The book release function also featured dance and music programmes.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and noted film maker A Syam Sharma graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking about the book, Dr Nara said that it is a narrative of his short interactions with Vietnamese revolutionary leader Nguyen Thi Binh, Peoples Congress of China Chairman Zhi Ziang, Prince Charles of England, South Africa Presidents Nelson Mandela and Zakob Zuma, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh economist Md Yunus, former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu, Chief of Army Staff Gen Rodrigues et al.
He said that proceeds generated from selling his book would be dedicated towards creating a corpus fund for the welfare of Shumang Leela artistes.
The book was published by Thouyangba and Thoungamba on behalf of Golden Publications, Kongba Shoudongpung.
Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam lauded the contributions of Dr Nara in the field of art and culture.
Identity and status of a community is determined and measured by their culture and traditions.
Pointing out that Manipur is known all over the world for its rich culture, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that all the people need to invest time and energy towards promotion of art and culture as done by Dr Nara.
Well known Shumang Leela artistes Sougrakpam Hemanta and Y Nilachandra were also felicitated during the book release function.
