Imphal, November 27 2010:
Taking strong exception to the secretive policy of the Government of India under which UNLF Chairman RK Meghen has been concealed since his arrest from Dhaka on September 29, the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has remarked that such policy of the Government of India is quite unbecoming of a democratic country.
A press release issued by the outfit's assistant information and publicity secretary Paul Ramung Muivah asserted that many innocent people of Manipur have been exterminated under such secretive policy of India.
The Government of India has been consistently scheming to divide the Northeastern people on communal and ethnic lines with a design to thwart off any united struggle.
Recalling that ULFA Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa and NDFB Chairman Ranjan Daimary were brought to India after their arrest in Bangladesh, the MNRF questioned the motive of New Delhi behind keeping the whereabouts of RK Meghen a secret till date.
AICC president Sonia Gandhi's complete silence on the issue during her visit to the State was a clear indicator of the status of Manipur in the view of Indian leaders.
Highlighting the need to bring all the communities of Manipur including Meiteis, Pangals, Nagas and Kukis, to a common platform towards solving the Manipur-India conflict, the MNRF cautioned that failure to forge unity among the indigenous communities may bring the fate of indigenous Tripuris to the people of Manipur.
Stating that the status of Manipur was not lower to India before the controversial merger, the outfit alleged that the Government of India has been instrumental in keeping Manipur backward through its oppressive and economically exploitative policies.
The party also informed about termination of one Simeon alias Athing alias Koko s/o Policub of Khangkhui village.
All donations made in the name of Simeon would be invalid from today, added
the release.
