Constitution Day 2022 observed

Imphal, November 26 2022:
The High Court of Manipur, in association with the Bar Council of Manipur, the High Court Bar Association of Manipur, the All Manipur Bar Association, the Manipur State Legal Services Authority, the High Court Legal Services Committee and the Manipur Judicial Academy, celebrated the Constitution Day 2022 at the Auditorium of the High Court today.
Justice Kh Nobin Singh, Director, Manipur Judicial Academy; Ibotombi Namoijam, President, High Court Bar Association of Manipur and Nambam Manikanta Singh, Vice President, All Manipur Bar Association graced the function as the presidium members, said a press release by the Registrar Judicial, High Court of Manipur.
The programme was also attended by officials of the Bar Council of Manipur, members of the Bar Associations, Judicial Officers, officials of the Legal Services Authorities, Officers of the Registry of the High Court and officials of the Manipur Judicial Academy.
During the programme, Certificates of Appreciation were distributed to lawyers in recognition of their life long services and who have practised at the Bar for more than 40 years.
Speaking at the occasion, Justice Kh Nobin Singh explained that the list prepared is not exhaustive and owing to difficulty in gathering all relevant information, only 49 names could be verified on this occasion.
He also stressed on the importance of educating all the citizens on the ideals of the Constitution as well as about the laws governing them in order to make the celebration truly meaningful.
The participants also took part in reading of the Preamble of the Constitution during the function.
Royal Academy of Law in collaboration with Adhivakta Parishad, Manipur observed the Constitution Day at the Conference Hall of Royal Academy of Law, Oinam.
A press release by Adhivakta Parishad, Manipur informed that Khaidem Mani Singh, former acting Chairperson Manipur Human Rights Commission; Irengbam Jugeshwar Singh, president of Adhivakta Parishad, Manipur; Laishram Radhakishwar Singh, Chairman of General Body, Royal Academy of Law attended the event as the presidium members.
Babloo Loitongbam, Director of Human Right Alert, Manipur and Irom Lalitkumar Singh, Senior Advocate delivered speeches as resource persons on the occasion.
