Intellectual Property Day observed

World Intellectual Property Day, 2016 on the theme � Digital Creativity: Cultured Reimagined was observed today at National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIIT), Akampat.
The observance programme organised jointly by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal and NIELIT, Imphal was attended by Th Surendranath Singh, Director, MASTEC, Imphal, Th Prameshwor Singh, Executive Director, NIELIT, Imphal and Dr L Dinachandra Singh, Senior Scientific Officer, MASTEC as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Surendranath while speaking on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) said that observance of the World Intellectual Property Day was started in the State since 2010 only although it has been started since 2001 in other States of India.
Informing that the event has been observed since the beginning by Patent Information Centre (PIC), MASTEC with different institutes and organisations in the State, he stressed the need to learn about science and technology in an innovative manner with innovative concept.
Maintaining that every human being and student of science and technology in the State can make small innovative creations, Surendranath also assured that PIC, MASTEC will guide any innovative persons.
Speaking at the occasion, Prameshwar enlightened the students saying the objective of the programme is to create awareness about the theme and dig out intellectual potential from the students of the institution.
