Many decry Tripura attack

Joint Students' Coordinating Committee has strongly condemned the attack on the rallyists of the Indigenous People Front of Tripura (IPFT) and other indigenous people of the State by Bengalis at Agartala on August 23 and expressed solidarity with those affected in the attack.
The Committee blamed the Indian Government and also the Government of Tripura for the unwanted incident.
The Central Government has been discriminating the indigenous people of the North East since a long time back and the incident at Tripura may also happen in Manipur and the whole North East.
Keeping in view the prevailing situation, indigenous people of the State must work unitedly to save the land from the clutches of outsiders.
The incumbent Government should also act keeping in mind the sentiments of the people, said a statement issued by JSCC.
The All Manipur Students' Union has also condemned the Tripura attack.
In a statement the student body said it is always prepared to join any struggle to save the indigenous people of the State.
The indigenous people of the whole North East must work unitedly to save their land from non-local people.
The Union will also support any decision of the Twipara Students' Federation which is a member of the North Eastern Students' Organisation.
The National Identity Protection Committee and Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup in separate statements have also strongly condemned the attack on the rallyists at Tripura and expressed solidarity with those affected in the attack.
