Meritorious students feted

Joint Action Committee for Felicitation of Distinct Personalities Nachou organised a felicitation ceremony as part of its 4th meritorious award distribution.
The 7th position holder of HSLC examination along with sports players who bagged awards in different activities/categories and cultural activist and students who clinched positions in the class X and XII examination were felicitated at the function.
One of the members of the committee stated that the function was organised with the sole objective to appreciate and motivate the hard work and contribution of different people in the society.
The member went on to state that the function is held every year.
Nachou Zilla Parishad member, Th Dilip Meitei, JCFDP Nachou president N Deba Singh, Nachou GP Pradhan N Jadu Singh, Advisor Manipur State for Women Commission RK Pramodini attended the function among others.
Meanwhile, a simple felicitation function to honour the 13th position holder N Zeno, 26 1st divisioner and 3 second divisioner of Mother's Pride Academy, Kwasiphai, Bishnupur district in the recently declared Class X examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur, was held at the school hall today.
The function was attended by DI, Zone IV Bishnupur, N Ranjit Singh as chief guest, Principal of the school, Kh Basanta Singh as functional president and DI Th Raghumani Singh as guest of honour.
The school achieved 100% pass percentage in the Class X examination in which the 13th position holder N Zeno secured 100% mark in Computer Science while other students also scored letter mark in various subjects.
N Zeno is a native of Nachou Mayai Mamang Leikai and second child of N Ranjit Singh and N (o) Tilotama Devi.
N Zeno secured 13th position with a score of 544 mark (92.3%).Modest gift were distributed to N Zeno and other successfull students of the school as part of the programme.
The students also extended heartfelt gratitude to the teachers of the school for their dedication towards the students.
They honoured them with simple gifts.
Regarding the function, Principal Kh Basanta Singh said that the outstanding results is a pride moment for the school and the region adding that it is wrong for parents and public to consider schools that produced position holders in large numbers are the best.
Schools that can mould and guide weak students to achieve success in their chosen field are also good schools, added the Principal and said Mother's Pride Academy modus operandi is to guide and shape up bright future of students.
In another felicitation function, successful students who secured 80% and above mark in Class X exam and 70% and above mark in Class XII exams conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary School Manipur respectively from Moirang Kendra and schools in Moirang were conferred Pukhrem Angoubi Memorial Meitorious Award set up in the name of grandmother of MLA P Sharatchandra Singh.
Pukhrem Angoubi Memorial Trust organised the award function under the sponsorship of MLA Moirang AC, Pukhrem Sharatchandra Singh in which 36 students who secured 80% and above in the Class X examination from schools in Moirang AC and 23 students who secured 80% and above mark in Class XII exams were honoured with citation and cash prize of Rs 1000.During the function, 2nd position holder in Class XII (Arts) exams, Moirangthem Melody Devi, 5th position holder in Arts stream, Huidrom Beron and 4th rank & 6th rank holder in Science stream Ribaraj Mairembam and Pukhram Suman were also honoured with modest gifts and cash incentive of Rs 5000 each by the Trust.
The award function began with paying floral tributes and respect to the photo of late Pukhrem Angoubi Devi.

NONEY: Felicitation function of meritorious students who secured high marks in Class X and XII from Longmai (Noney) village, organized by Longmai Students' Union (LSU), was held today at Town Baptist Church, Longmai Bazar.
D Gangmei, CEO TADC; Namlalung Gangmei, SDO/SDM, Longmai (Noney); and Dimguang Ruangmei, secy Relief & Dev Dept RNBA graced the function as chief guest, guest of honour and special guest respectively.
D Gangmei said that those who want to become a successful person should struggle from the primary stage and added that proper guidance should be given to parents and they should not force their children to go for unwanted subjects.
The others dignitaries urged the students to work hard to achieve success in life.
As part of the function, certificates of appreciation were given out to 7 outstanding students.
