Deceased identified, woman dies

Imphal, June 24 2014:
The woman found dead last morning inside a banana grove to the posterior side of Pheija Primary School, Imphal East district under Porompat police station has been identified as one Itombi Begum (53) w/o Jamaluddin of Lilong Chaobok Mairenkhul Awaching, Thoubal district.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was held today at Lilong Bazar and constituted a joint action committee against the mysterious death of Itombi.
The meeting resolved to launch different forms of democratic agitation together with civil organisations from June 31 if the persons involved in the killing of Itombi are not booked by June 30 .
Itombi left home in the morning of June 22 to visit a doctor at Hatta.
Incidentally, Itombi's body is currently lying at JNIMS mortuary and her right ear was found wounded as if the ear ring was snatched away.
On the other hand, a young woman died under suspicious circumstances at Phundrei Maning Leikai, Thoubal district under Kakching police station last night.
The deceased woman was one Arabjan (22) w/o Ajam Khan of Phundrei Maning Leikai.
According to Arabjan's parental family of Sangaiyumpham Part-II Moirang Palli Bazar, they were informed about the death of Arabjan at around 9 last night.
As the family suspected some foul play, the family filed a complaint at Kakching police station.
Subsequently, police picked and deposited the body at JNIMS morgue.
Moreover, Arabjan's husband Ajam Khan (25) and father-in-law Md Haiya have been pulled up for questioning.
