The first ever SBI intouch branch which will facilitate hassle free account opening and procurement of passbook and debit card instantaneously, was inaugurated at Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai today.
Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, SBI LHO, NE circle chief general manager PVSLN Murty, SBI Zonal office (B&O) deputy general manager Rajeev Arora took part in the event as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, PVSLN Murty said that the intouch branch would ease the inconveniences faced by the people while opening an account at SBI.
Guwahati already has two branches and Shillong and Agartala have one branch each.
Only two staff would be present at the branch where any customer with a PAN and an Aaadhaar card can open an account and get the passbook along with a debit card within 5 to 10 minutes by filling up an on-line form themselves.
He pointed out that newly opened SBI intouch branch would simplify the process of depositing and withdrawing money, passbook updating and depositing cheque which will immediately provide the customer with the photo copy of the process.
Customers who wish to do on-line transactions can also take benefits of the facilities and systems at the branch, he added.
He stated that customers who want to procure SBI loans can also visit the branch and learn all the details including the amount of loan, EMI rate and numbers, interest rates, duration etc.
Speaking at the event, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore pointed out that the branch would be of great convenience to the people of the State in this information and technologically advanced age.
