Kangpokpi, June 22 2019:
Barely after a month the interlocutor of tripartite talks between the Government of India, Government of Manipur and the two Kuki UGs conglomeration, the United People's Front (UPF) and the Kuki National Organization (KNO) met the Kuki UG groups and the Kuki leaders in an unofficial visit to the state, the next round of Political Dialogue is notably scheduled to be held on June 25 at New Delhi.
Mentioned may be made that, a draft outline of the political demand for formation of territorial council signed by UPF spokesperson, Aaron Kipgen and KNO negotiator Dr Seilen Haokip was tabled during the 6th round of talks last year on January 10 chaired for the first time by the newly appointed interlocutor, AB Mathur after he replaced Dineshwar Sharma as the interlocutor.
However, after the 6th round of talks, it has been reportedly delayed due to some event that took place among the groups here in Manipur.

But, when interlocutor AB Mathur visited Kangpokpi and met UPF leaders, Kuki chiefs and other CSOs leaders, had notably said that the progress of the peace talks was very satisfactory and expressed his anticipation that the issue which accounted for delaying the talks will be resolved and the talks will resume very soon.
During a press conference held at his chamber at Ebenezer Peace Camp, Natheljang today, UPF Spokesperson, Aaron Kipgen said that the GoI has already informed them for the next round of talks to be held in the national capital on June 25.While confirming the Government intimation over the next round of talks, the UPF Spokesperson sought moral support from the tribal leaders for the two conglomerations of the Kuki UGs, the UPF and the KNO.
"I appeal to all the tribe leaders of our community including the Paite tribe, Vaiphei Gangte, Simte, Anal, Chiru, Zou, Thadou, etc, to extend moral support to the UPF and KNO so as to reach a logical conclusion at the earliest", Aaron Kipgen said.
It is also our earnest request to the Church leaders that please do invoke them in the prayer this Sunday so that their vexed political issue should be resolved peacefully at the earliest, he further added.
It is worth mentioning that interlocutor AB Mathur during his visit to Kangpokpi District on May 1 this year said that the Government of India and Government of Manipur are both very keen to find a solution to the problems and issues of the Kukis at the earliest possible time and appealed the Kuki groups and its people to maintain conducive atmosphere in the state.
Various student bodies of the Kuki community and village chiefs had also clearly demonstrated the people's aspiration of early solution over the vexed Kuki political issues with a strong slogan such as, "expedite Kuki political solution, "No Political solution no rest", when the interlocutor AB Mathur visited Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
Meanwhile, UPF Spokesperson also personally met various Kuki leaders recently and sought their moral support and prayer in connection with the next round of talks.
