MMWO urges review of Forest Guard recruitment process

Imphal, December 21 2017: Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging to review the recruitment process of Forest Guard, 2016 of the Department of Forest .

Addressing a press meet at its office located at Hatta today, MMWO organisation secretary Tabassumanaaz Alam said that while checking the list of successful candidates of the recruitment, it was found that there were only four candidates for OBC (Meitei Pangal) .

He pointed out that as per the existing reservation policy in the State, the reserved quota for the OBC (Meitei Pangal) is 4 percent so quota for the Meitei Pangal community should be 10 out of the 255 candidates declared so far .

Thus, there is a shortage of six numbers of quota posts for the community.

It is also felt doubtful that no proper roster would have been followed in all the completed recruitment process of other Departments, he said .

Quoting the memorandum, he asserted that if the deliberate mistakes and corrupt practices of the concerned authorities are not checked, all the missions of the Government for the upliftment of all the downtrodden communities who have no knowledge of official works, will never be successful .

Under such circumstances, the organisation will not remain as silent spectator.

Necessary steps would be taken up in collaboration with civil society organisations and if necessary legal helps will also be sought, he cautioned .

He drew the attention of the CM to look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to review the recruitment process at the earliest and follow the Reservation Roster strictly .

Timely action will avoid untoward incidents from the side of the disappointed, helpless and the most backward group of people of the State, he added.
