Aizawl, November 21 2012:
Cases against HPC(D) army chief Lalropuia (45) has been cleared today and the local court in Aizawl has granted him bail on health ground with conditions that he would appear before the court whenever summoned.
Lalropuia was arrested along with his 'Deputy Army Chief' Biaknunga from Silchar airport in Assam's Cachar district on June 10 last just after arriving from Imphal on their way to meet leaders of different political parties from Sinlung Hills in Mizoram.
The Hmar insurgent leader has 36 cases against him in different police stations in Mizoram.
Chief judicial magistrate, M.Lallianmawii allowed him to be granted bail on 19th November but as an advocate in one of his cases was out of station (to Lunglei district) and his signature needed, his bail plea could only be cleared today.
According to his advocate J.Lalremruata Hmar, Lalropuia is suffering from multiple illness diabetes, tuberculosis and typhoid.
He is currently treated at Aizawl Civil Hospital.
As recommended by the doctors, he will be taken to the Guwahati Neorological Research Centre (GNRC) in Guwahati (Assam) tomorrow for medical treatment.
