Low turnout at book fair

Imphal, December 20 2016:
Unlike previous years, turnout at this year's Imphal Book Fair has dropped due to prevailing situation in the State.
Elangbam Latakishore, Chief Librarian of State Central Library, Imphal stated that silver jubilee celebration of Imphal Book Fair is also underway alongside the fair which is being organised by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Foundation, Kolkata and State Central Library, Imphal at DM College of Commerce ground.
Due to the prevailing situation, turnout is comparatively lower this year.

Since economic blockade is underway, most of the books which are to be exhibited in the fair are stranded on the highway.
He informed that 31 book firms of the State and another 26 book firms from outside the State are participating the fair.
Food stalls and other service provider stalls are set up in the fair.
