Blood donated as tribute to June 18, 2001 martyrs

In all 42 individuals from different walks of life donated blood as Voluntary Help Unit Committee (VHUC), RIMS Hospital commemorated the '13th blood donation camp - A Tribute to the Martyrs of 18th June 2001' at RIMS Hospital today.
The donors included VHUC volunteers, RIMS Hospital doctors, medical students and nursing students, social workers, businessmen, and generous individuals, informed a Committee statement issued by its organising committee convenor Alex S singsit adding that this year the camp was held under the theme 'Blood for All race' .
The camp held at RIMS Blood Bank commenced with the observance of two minutes silence in remembrance of those who laid down their lives for the cause of Manipur's territorial integrity on this day in 2001, said the statement.

It is said that along with many VHUC volunteers donating blood at all the commemorative events till date, today's event was the 10th and 8th time respectively for regular donors Mr & Mrs Elangbam Lokendro and Sanjay Mahawar.
Conveying gratitude to all the donors and acknowledging that such humane endeavours would certainly be decisive in saving the lives of many, alex Singsit also applauded RIMS authorities for making the event smooth and successful.
